Spring at Lesnes Abbey

February 22, 2020 Leigh Hatts
Early daffodils on the slope behind the east end of the church

There are signs of spring at Lesnes Abbey.

The cafe was being cleaned today ready to reopen next week.

Some daffodils are already appearing although the big show is a few weeks away.

And there is new signage and information boards.

Blossom above the beehives.

About the book

This guidebook by Leigh Hatts details the Pilgrims’ Way, an historic pilgrimage route to Canterbury Cathedral in Kent, home of the shrine of the martyred archbishop, St Thomas Becket. The route is described both from Winchester in Hampshire (136.5 miles) and London’s Southwark Cathedral (90 miles), with an optional spur to Rochester Cathedral.
