In Alresford there has been confusion for both locals and pilgrims over the south-east exit from the Hampshire town where the road pattern has been slowly changing.

The town is at the start of Stage 2 of the PW and the problem has been caused by the plans for Alresford Business Park.

There are no buildings yet but the new roads are now open.

The temporary diversion for walkers is now no longer required.

The new PW route from Alresford to nearby Bishop’s Sutton has been established with a new link from Sun Lane to Whitehill Lane which is has been blocked at its western end.

***New directions across barren land between Alresford’s Sun Lane and Whitehill Lane:

At the far end of Tichborne Down road go left with traffic into Sun Lane.

When level with Appledown Close (left) bear right into a new road built to serve the new Alresford Business Park.

Go ahead over a roundabout junction. At a T-junction turn right to meet Whitehill Lane.

Go left into Whitehill Lane.

Approach in Tichborne Down road to corner with Sun Lane.

Go right at the T-junction
